Dr Laugesen was a member of the working party
leading to the report of the Royal
Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal Australian and New Zealand
College of Psychiatrists which recommends “quitting smoking as
the first choice” but
“permitting the use of oral tobacco (snus)
for example, as currently widely used in Sweden, as an aid to smoking
