Cigarette smoking prevalence data See intntlsmoprev.htm

These data are unavoidably incomplete for most countries prior to the mid 1970s. Even in the 1980s the data are often not available for the same age groups, and not available for some countries. Lack of uniformity in how the smoking question is asked is however avoided by using the ratio of adult male to adult female smoking rates, which is available for many countries and years, and by using the gradient of trend. The data is compiled from various sources, including epidemiological studies, and mostly from national survey data.

Youth smoking prevalence data. See intntlsmoprev.htm based on national survey data, mostly since 1990.
